Hayley Fox
Lyric Soprano
Hayley Fox is a lyric soprano skilled at performing new works and classic operatic repertoire alike. This season, she will sing the title role in Cendrillon with Chicago City Opera, and cover Marina in Katie: The Strongest of the Strong with Lyric Unlimited in their outreach tour. She also will join Chicago Opera Theater for the american premiere of Kurt Weill’s Der Silbersee. Her recent role debuts included Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi (Opera Company of Middlebury), Elle in La Voix Humaine (Chicago College of Performing Arts), The Girl in Remedios Varios by Carlos Carillo, and Emily in the Weight of Light by Gillian Perry (Chicago Opera Theater). She has covered Mimi in La Bohème (Opera Company of Middlebury), Cendrillon by Massenet (in English translation) (Cedar Rapids Opera) and Leonora in Ferdinando Paër’s Leonora (Chicago Opera Theater.) Hayley has been seen as a young artist with Chicago Opera Theater, The Glimmerglass Festival, and Wolf Trap Opera. She is a both an Encouragement award and District winner of the Laffont Competition.

Original Music
Hayley writes original music under the moniker Hyssop. Titled after the bitter herb, she aims to blend her knowledge of classical music with her interest in jazz and contemporary idioms to create a sound that is flush with spirit and color. She collaborates with her partner Timothy Fox, and has played live around Chicago and Cincinnati.
